Today is a big day for JRPG fans, as Atlus has been announced that a remake of the superb Nintendo DS RPG “Radiant Historia” will be coming to Japanese 3DS owners on June 29th as Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology. There is no word on US localization just yet, but there is still plenty of time for a US date to be announced. Radiant Historia is was an incredibly underappreciated JRPG in the vein of Chrono Trigger, and it would be great if 3DS owners who missed out on it back in 2011 get to experience it now. The game will also include a new scenario in the 3DS version to give even veteran players a reason to dive back in. We’ll update this article with a US release date as soon as we know more.
Radiant Historia is a turn-based JRPG that utilizes a 3 by 3 grid system, giving combat an added layer of complexity through its strategic twist. When the kingdoms of Alistel and Granorg find themselves at war, Stocke, a Special Intelligence agent of Alistel, is entrusted with the magical book called the White Chronicle. At the brink of destruction, Stocke use the White Chronicle as a means of time travel and so the fate of the war (and the world) hang in the balance. Who will win? And, what lengths were they forced to take? The choices you make may drastically differ and the consequences will be yours to bare as they ripple through the very fabric of time. So, choose wisely.
